Our Welcome
On behalf of the congregation of Emmaus Lutheran Church, I offer a hearty Christian welcome to all who wish to visit our sanctuary and worship with us. A visit to God’s house is always worthwhile, and we pray that you will feel at home here at Emmaus. You will discover that we are a loving congregation. We want you to join us.
Our Invitation
Grace, mercy and peace to you from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We want to invite you and your family to make worship a regular part of your week, and we pray that you will consider Emmaus Lutheran Church your place of worship and our congregation as your church family. For our Hispanic neighbors, we also offer the opportunity to worship God with our weekly Spanish-language church service.
Our Mission
Using the words of Dr. Oswald Hoffmann, our sainted former president of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, we can sum up the mission of Emmaus in just three words: “We preach Christ!”
Since 1903, the mission of Emmaus Lutheran Church is to preach the word of our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. More than 100 years later, we continue to follow that pattern. In 100 years, much has changed--not only in the world, but right here in Fountain Square. What has not changed, however, is the focus of the church—to preach Christ.
Today, Emmaus is achieving this goal through weekly worship, an elementary school that offers Christian-based education, weekly Bible study opportunities and a pantry to help our friends and neighbors with special needs. Also, we offer a Christian-based child-care ministry—In God’s Arms—as well as a new playground and park for the children in our neighborhood.
God has blessed Emmaus in many ways over the years. We at Emmaus want to share those blessings through His word to you and our community.
Your servant in Christ,
Pastor Michael Feuer
