Mission Statement
Emmaus Lutheran School provides a Christ-centered environment to enable each child's journey toward a whole Spirit-filled life.
A Standard of Excellence
Emmaus Lutheran School emphasizes academic excellence. Our achievement test scores are consistently above the scores of public schools. Our students are expected to be busily engaged in learning experiences throughout the day and are required to do neat and complete homework on a regular basis. Our students not only experience a broad and balanced curriculum, but they are provided with the opportunity to develop skills in the most recent uses of technology.
Emmaus Lutheran School emphasizes loving care and concern for all students. Teachers meet with all parents and students before the school year begins in order to establish a strong parent-teacher relationship. Our students are not only taught how to develop their own self-esteem, but they learn how to love others through what they are taught each day. The school community is positive and happy as students learn how to be a minister to all who they come in contact with each day.
Emmaus Lutheran School emphasizes positive student behavior. Our school's firm but fair discipline policy is Christ-centered and directed toward creating a safe and positive environment in which all students have the greatest potential for learning. Because of our outstanding staff of highly qualified teachers, students are influenced to become persons who respect themselves, their fellow students, their teachers, their parents, and their Lord.
Enrollment Information
Fee Payment Policy
- Student fees are due before the start of school.
- Payments may be mailed or given to the school secretary.
- Tuition and fees must be kept current to avoid late fees and student suspensions.
- All tuition and fees from the preceding year must be paid before a student will be allowed to re-enter classes for the next year.
- Students who enter after the start of school will pay current tuition and all fees
Financial Aid
Who is eligible - Any student-age child who desires to attend Emmaus and whose family qualifies.
When to apply - To be considered for financial aid, the student must be attending or be enrolled to attend in the next school year. Applications are available in the school office. The Financial Aid Committee will make the final decision on how aid is distributed.
What is considered - Grants are made on the basis of the number of applicants, degree of need, and the amount of aid available. Other factors will be considered by the FAC. The grant will be applied to tuition.
Admission Policy
Incoming students will be required to take a placement test, which, along with a recommendation from the previous school principal, is the basis for admission. Other information asked for on the application will be used in the selection process. A student and parent interview is involved in the enrollment process.
Transfer students from other schools should be in good standing at the previous school and must have current medical and academic records on file. Although students of church members will have first priority in grades where there is limited class size, any outside student desiring quality education in a Christ-centered school environment is welcome to join our "family."
Non-Discrimination Policy
Emmaus admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities that are available to students of the school.
What Emmaus Students Say
- "Once you make friends at Emmaus, you join a "family." Many of the members of my class have been together since pre-school. It is almost like we are brothers and sisters. I like the Christian atmosphere, and I can't imagine being anywhere else."
- "I enjoy being in a small school where the classes are smaller. You know everybody and they know you."
- "The teachers here really care about us. They not only teach us, they try to help us in other ways."
- "I used to go to a public school. I have found that I have learned more at Emmaus because the teachers can teach and not waste time disciplining other kids,"
- "There are a lot or opportunities here to do neat things. The sports programs are great, and we get a chance to get involved in a lot or other activities."
